Acting Minister of Health, Minister of Defence Mohamed Nazim has said that the health ministry will provide every atoll with a speed launch.
Speaking to the press, the Minister said that sea ambulance services will be commenced in Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo next week as part of the ministry’s project to grant a sea ambulance an atoll per month.
He said that the sea ambulance service will also be provided to Haa Alif Ihavandhoo soon.
Minister Nazim said that the ministry will be repairing the health speed launches and will be granting each atoll a speed launch till next month.
In addition to this upgrading of health centers in four islands were signed yesterday. In this regard, an agreement was signed to establish a bed lift in the three story hospital of Gaaf Alif Villingili which will cost MVR 1.6 million.
An agreement also was signed to repair the health center of Haa Alif Uligamu which will cost MVR 497000 and to repair Addu City, Feydhoo’s health center for MVR 216000.
A project of MVR 76958 to establish a tank in the dialysis unit in Hithadhoo Regional Hotel was also signed yesterday.
