The master plan to root out the gang problem has been presented to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and Attorney General Mohamed Anil seeking their counsel.
The media official of the Home Ministry, Thazmeel Abdussamad told Miadhu Daily that a master plan was made to root out the gang problem. He said that apart from the President and the Attorney General, the plan will also be presented to the security committee of the Peoples’ Majlis.
He said that the plan was to restrain and control gang violence, drug problem and murder.
Thazmeel said that the plan was made under the directive of Home Minister Umar Naseer who recently stated that he will give a hard blow to the gangs which will eradicate them from Maldives.
He said that the Home Minister is trying to make a safe environment for the people and to bring prosperity to the people.
