The Deputy Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the Maldives Tareq Al Fayez has said that many are targeting to weaken Islam, but that is an impossible task.
He made the statement speaking in the closing ceremony of the international prophetic tradition competition, organized jointly by Maldives National University and World Muslim Leagues’ Commission for Introducing the Messenger.
Ambassador Al-Fayez said that a dangerous intellectual war has been launched against Islam with the sole purpose of weakening the religion. He urged all Muslims to be aware of this.
The Ambassador added that the Islamic civilization was the noblest civilization, adding that this has to be maintained. He further said that it was the nature of the world for civilizations to flounder and that the same applied for the Muslim civilization. He added that in this situation, the Muslims have to adhere to the religion and rely on each other.
Al Fayez also reflected on the important standing religious scholars and education had in Islam.
