Purpose of Expo is to give easy access to locals to information: High Commission
Indian High Commission in the Maldives has stated that the purpose of the ongoing Health Expo is to give easy access to the public on health services available in India.

Speaking to Miadhu, the High Commission’s First Secretary Amarnath said that there was a wide range of medical services available in India, but specialty services were in different states and areas.

“When patients go to India without proper information, issues arise. They are sometimes forced to seek treatment from substandard health care service providers. Travelling from one state to the other is expensive, time consuming. That’s why we are providing all necessary information on the hospitals and medical institutes,” he said.

Amarnath added that the participants of the India Health Expo 2016, were highly qualified to provide information on the hospitals. He further said that Maldivians were seeking treatment from other regional countries, noting that the same treatment was available at a fraction of that cost from India.

“We want to provide such information to the Maldivians,” he said.

Indian Health Expo 2016 will be open until the 18th of this month, every day from 3pm to 10pm.

Visitors can make appointments during the Expo hours.
