Jumhooree Party (JP) has welcomed the Government’s decision to take the initiative to immediately reconvene Political Party talks in the interest of progress, development and national unity.
A statement released by the Party said that the Party will welcome any initiative to engage in discussions with the Government that will benefit the public and the nation.
JP had taken part in the previous round of talks without any conditions and had also welcomed the talks.
The President’s Office said that invitations to the talks will be sent out to the political parties in the days that follow.
The statement released by the Office said that it was the President’s sincere hope that the talks will prove successful and that they will deliver on the promise of meaningful progress to the people. The President said that discussions will be undertaken on the spirit of national interest but added that he will not accept any conditions.
