State Trading Organization (STO) and Shell Corporation is to partner to begin cooking gas transshipments to the Maldives in a bid to develop STO businesses and to develop transshipment business.
The service commencement ceremony was held Thursday with Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed as the Chief Guest of the ceremony. Senior figures at Shell and the Government took part in the ceremony.
Speaking in the ceremony, STO Managing Director Ahmed Shaheer said that this was the first operation of this magnitude. Shaheer thanked Government agencies and Ministry of Economic Development for their assistance in beginning the project.
Shell LPG Global Team Leader, Glenn Underwood, said that with this project, the Shell Corporation will be able to expand their services in this region.
Economic Minister Saeed said that this agreement was one that was extremely beneficial.
