Saudi Deputy Ambassador to the Maldives Tareq Al Fayez has said that Saudi Arabia will assist in creating more Islamic Centers in the country.
He made the statement speaking in the signing ceremony of the Gaaf Dhaal Thinadhoo Islamic Center to be constructed with the Saudi Government assistance.
Tareq said that the Saudi Government had already invested US$ 3.7 million for the construction of 10 mosques in the country, adding that the Center is part of this donation.
Tareq added that the Saudi Government aimed to construct more Islamic Centers and mosques in various parts of the world. He said that Saudi Arabia had always aimed to spread Islam across the world.
The bilateral relations between the two nations had strengthened over the past two years. The relationship between Saudi King Salman and President Yameen is also a close one.
