The donation of US$ 100,000 assured by His Excellency, Dr. Abdullah Ben Mohammed Ibrahim Al- Sheikh Speaker of the Shura Council, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has been handed over to the Islamic University of the Maldives.
Deputy Ambassador Tariq Al Fayez handed over the donation to the University in a ceremony held Tuesday afternoon. Vice Chancellor Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed accepted the donation on behalf of the University.
Dr. Shaheem expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Bin Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Sheikh on behalf of Chancellor, Dr. Mohamed Zahir Hussain, Senior Management, Staff and Students for the generous contribution. He added that this was the first international donation to the University and that additional assistance from Saudi Arabia will be received soon.
