Spokesperson at the President’s Office Ibrahim Muaz Ali has said that the country will be ruled by a leadership elected by the public.
Speaking to Miadhu, Muaz said that this Government was elected by the public and the government will carry on.
Opposition MDP’s Friday rally had warned of a regime change within six months.
In his state of the nation address, President Yameen had said that there were many nations allied with Maldives and Maldives will proceed ahead with those nations.
A senior official of the Government said that Maldives had the right to self determination and as such, according to the constitution and by a legally elected Government.
