Finnish tourist’s infection location may not be Maldives
Finnish Health Agencies have said that the Finnish citizen who had vacationed in the Maldives may not have contracted Zika virus during his holiday.

Reports from the country said that he had been exposed to the virus minimally and that the location where he was infected cannot be yet determined.

Finland’s Health Ministry said that the visitor had contracted the virus after he had visited Maldives last June. He had been treated and had fully recovered.

Ecuador is preparing to host Health Ministers of 22 Latin America and Caribbean nations to address the Zika virus issue. Colombian President had said that 16,400 had been infected with the virus, labelling it a crisis. President Juan Manuel Santos said that 170 communities had been affected by the virus, with an estimate of 600,000 that are at risk.

Brazilian Health Ministry said that out of the suspected 4,120 cases, 270 have been diagnosed with the virus. The country is carrying out testing services.

Even though no cases have been reported in the Maldives, health authorities have called on to exercise caution.
