Islamic Ministry’s Islamic Studio has been launched.
The Studio was launched by the President of Maldives Broadcasting Commission, Mohamed Shaheeb, in a ceremony held Wednesday night.
Speaking in the ceremony, Islamic Minister Dr. Ahmed Ziyad Bagir said that the channel will address many of the spiritual issues faced in the society, allowing a broader platform to communicate the message of scholars to the society.
“Many job opportunities will be opened to youth as a result of the channel,” he said.
Shaheeb defined the founding of the channel, and bringing forth religious programs, will be a boost to the society.
Studio’s Consultant, and the sole employee of the Studio, Ibrahim Rameez said that work to create the Studio was launched in early 2015. He added that the Studio was formed as a result of the tireless work carried out by the two Ministers.
“The initiative was led by former Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed. He resigned soon after the project was started. The initiative was a success due to the hard work carried out by the two Ministers. They have rendered an invaluable service to Islam,” he said.
Rameez added that a channel will be soon formed under the Studio and will begin disseminating a wide range of information and programming on a wide range of topics on Islam. He said that he was motivated to proceed with the project due to the efforts of the Government. Rameez further said the youth of the country was allied with the Government in order to achieve these results.
He stated that Islamic Minister Dr. Ziyad Baqir had always given precedence to any initiative that will enhance Islam and had never hesitated to serve in this capacity.
