Maldives has said that actions that prolong the question and issue of Palestine will only prevent from reaching for a permanent solution to the issue.
The Permanent Ambassador of the Maldives to the United Nations, Ahmed Sareer, made the statement, speaking in the special session of the UN Security Council.
In his remarks Sareer noted that Israel had been further encroaching on Palestinian territories, instead of reaching for a permanent sustainable solution for the issue. The Ambassador condemned the Israeli actions in restricting the basic necessities to the Palestinians and the inhumane acts carried out against a defenseless population.
Maldives had always been a strong critic of the acts of aggression carried out by the Israelis against the Palestinians.
Sareer had also urged the members of the Security Council to seek out solid measures to address the various civil conflicts plaguing the Middle East, urging for a peaceful and political solution before the situation aggravates to worse situation.
