State Trading Organization (STO) has reduced prices for diesel and petrol for the second time in the period of 25 days.
Speaking in a press conference in STO, the state owned company’s Managing Director Ahmed Shaheer said that STO will sale a liter of diesel for MVR 9.25 and a petrol liter for MVR 9.05 from today onward.
STO had initially reduced fuel prices on the first of this month, slashing the price of diesel by MVR 1 and petrol by MVR 1.20.
Shaheer stressed that STO was closely monitoring the global changes in fuel prices and will bring changes to the local prices accordingly. He added that these changes were brought so that a ripple effect can influence the economy.
