The Dhivehi translation of the Holy Quran had survived devastating fire that wiped out all of Fariva stores on Wednesday; this is no minimal feat, one that can deservedly can be called a miracle.
The translation was kept in a cabinet in the office area of the store. The cabinet housed many documents; the documents did not survive the fire.
Shop Manager Hassan Niyaz Rasheed said that they had discovered the Quran while clearing the area from the debris.
“The only damage to the copy was the edges were singed. No other damage was seen. The cover of the copy remained undamaged,” he said.
Shop’s owner Makhma Hussain Rasheed had handed over the book on request of his brother Makhma Abdu Rasheed.
It is an undoubtable miracle that the copy of the Quran had survived the fire while the fire had decimated Fariva shop and affected two floors in the building adjacent to the shop.
