Nine important agreements were signed on Monday between the Governments of Maldives and China. The ceremony was held at the President’s Office.
The agreements that were signed: Memorandum of Understanding on Strengthening the Cooperation: The agreement was signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives, Hon. Dunya Maumoon, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, Hon. Wang Yi.
Memorandum of Understanding on Establishing the Joint Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation:The agreement was signed by the Minister of Economic Development of Maldives, Hon. Mohamed Saeed, and the Chinese Minister of Commerce, Hon. Gao Hucheng.
Memorandum of Understanding on Promoting the Construction of the Male-Hulhule’ Bridge Project: The agreement was signed by the Minister of Tourism of Maldives, Hon. Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Gafoor, and the Chinese Minister of Commerce, Hon. Gao Hucheng.
Memorandum of Understanding on Marine Cooperation : The agreement was signed by the Minister of Environment and Energy, Hon. Thoriq Ibrahim, and Administrator of the State Oceanic Administration of China, Mr. Liu Cigui.
Memorandum of Understanding on Health Cooperation: The agreement was signed by Acting Minister of Health and Minister of Defense and National Security of Maldives, Colonel Retired Mohamed Nazim, and Hon. Wang Fukang, Ambassador of China to the Maldives.
Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of a Joint Meeting Mechanism to Deal with the Issue of Safety of Chinese Tourists in the Maldives: The agreement was signed by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Dunya Maumoon, and and Hon. Wang Fukang, Ambassador of China to the Maldives.
Memorandum of Understanding on the Tourism Infrastructure Development Project: The agreement was signed by Minister of Tourism, Hon. Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Gafoor, and Mr. Mo Wenhe, Chairman of China Harbour Engineering Company Limited.
Preliminary Contract Agreement Expansion and Upgrading of Ibrahim Nasir International Airport: The agreement was signed by Managing Director of Maldives Airports Company Limited, Mr. Ibrahim Saleem, and Mr. Li Daosong, General Manager of the Overseas Business Department of Beijing Urban Construction Group Company Limited.
Memorandum of Understanding on the Greater Male’ Power Station Project: The agreement was signed by Mr. Abdul Shakoor Solih, Managing Director of STELCO, and Mr. Ho Xiatun, Executive Vice President of Sino-Hydrop Corporation Limited.
