Foreign Minister Dunya Maumoon on Thursday said that Maldives did not believe that force cannot be a factor in achieving political and religious goals.
Speaking in the Foreign Minister’s meeting of OIC nations in Saudi Arabia, Minister Dunya said that the biggest challenge facing the Muslim Ummah today was the use of Islam to justify terror attacks. She stressed that Islam was a religion of peace and that extremism and harsh interpretation of Islam had no basis in the religion.
She had also called on all leaders of Muslim nations to ally as one Ummah to resolve the issue of terrorism in the contemporary world.
