FENAKA to bring in 60 additional generators
FENAKA Corporation has revealed that the company will bring in an additional 60 generators to cater to the increasing energy demands.

Speaking to press, FENAKA Managing Director Nimal said that the bank had invested in 77 generators last year for islands, which are currently on 24-hour electricity.

“We brought in 77 generators based on two years. However, energy consumption is increasing, with nearly all households installing fridges and ACs,” he said.

Nimal said that the company will focus on expanding their services this year and will aim to upgrade power stations in 60 islands.

Nimal added that the infrastructure maintained by private energy suppliers were of inferior quality and as such, FENAKA will initiate an MVR 50 million project to change electricity cables in 25 or 26 islands.
Nimal assured that the fresh water supply network in Addu City will be completed and operational in August.

He added that two generators for Addu City will be operational within the next three to four months.
