‘Male’ industrial village’ will bring drastic changes to Male’: Dr. Muizz
Housing Ministry has stated that the development of the Male’ Industrial Village in the harbor area will drastically change the face of Male’ and usher development.
Housing Ministry said that Male’ is congested and there were many activities carried out that pose significant risks to public health, safety and environment.

Once the Village is completed, all lumber warehouses, metal workshops and warehouses, and other such places will be relocated. Additionally, the landfills will be relocated to the Village and transported to Thilafushi from there. Concrete ready mix preparation areas, heavy vehicle parking areas, water and oil loading facilities will also be established in the area.

The Village will be created by reclaiming 4.5 hectares of land. Housing Minister Dr. Mohamed Muizz said that the village will be developed by the state at a cost of MVR 159 million which can be recovered in a period of four years.

Dr. Muizz added that once the area is fully developed restaurants and other facilities will be created there. He said that the island will be a clean and a green area.
MTCC will be in charge of developing the roads, electricity and water systems.

MTCC CEO Ibrahim Abdu Razzaq Haleem also pledged the company’s assistance and participation in all projects that will benefit the public. He also said that MTCC is delighted to the serve the public.
