Sheikh Mohamed Rasheed Ibrahim has said that the bilateral relationship between Maldives and Saudi Arabia is at an all-time high as the two nations were the only two fully Islamic nations.
Speaking in the closing ceremony of the symposium for religious scholars held today in Islamic Centre, he said that the visits by the Saudi scholars to the country had increased after they had been made aware of the challenges on Islam.
Sheikh Rashed added that the only visit by a Saudi Islamic Ministry was late last year.
He also noted that the Speaker of the Shura Council was not a person who paid many visits, but he had paid a visit to the country with a huge delegation.
“Shura Council Speaker holds a higher position than the Ministers but he had also visited the country,” he said.
Sheikh Rasheed noted that Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Azeez had given a special interest towards over the country.
