The New Indian High Commissioner, His Excellency Mr. Akilesh Mishra pointed Economic Development being a Primary Focus of President Yameen’s Administration. He stated this during the call to present his credentials to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom held during this afternoon at the President’s Office
At the ceremony, President Yameen congratulated the High Commissioner on the commencement of his term and the High Commissioner discussed ways to further strengthen the bilateral relations that exist between the two countries.
Speaking at the meeting, the Indian High Commissioner assured the President that India would continue to assist Maldives whenever it was required.
The President was accompanied at the meeting by Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon. Dunya Maumoon and Under Secretary at the President’s Office Mr. Mohamed Naseer.
