President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a message of sympathy to the President of Pakistan, His Excellency Mamnoon Hussain, following the bomb blast in the city of Quetta.
The President’s message reads as follows:
“It was with deep shock and sadness that I learnt of the deadly bomb blast in the city of Quetta, causing the tragic loss of lives and grievous injury to many. Standing in firm solidarity with Pakistan and its efforts to maintain national peace and harmony, the Government and people of the Maldives join me in condemning this cowardly act of terror in the strongest term.”
“The Maldives remains strongly committed to the fight against the global menace of terrorism, and will continue to work closely with Pakistan and the international community as a whole in eliminating the scourge of terrorism.”
“During this period of grief, I would like to convey my heartfelt sympathy to the Government and brotherly people of Pakistan.”
