Charges made for carrying pistol on May Day: Adeeb
Former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Ghafoor yesterday said in court that terrorism charges have been filed against him for allegedly possessing a pistol on May Day, last year.

Even though Adeeb had made this statement, Police have previously said that their investigation was based on intelligence reports that he had housed a pistol in his residence.

In the first hearing of the case held yesterday, Adeeb had attempted to speak in Court. However, the judge’s bench had prevented him from speaking in the Court, stating that he had been given 15 days to appoint a legal counsel.

Adeeb was summoned to Court under Police protection; the trial began at 2 pm.

The three judge bench will review the terror charges filed against the former Vice President.
