Two individuals - a mother and a son - have been arrested in connection to the murder of 23-year old Hawwa Zuha (of Babulavaali, L. Gan), who was found dead on Thursday morning in Galolhu ward.
Police Media Official Police Station Inspector Ismail Ali said that they had arrested a 28 year old male and a 50 year old female with regards to the murders.
Police added that the two were arrested under a court order and that their residences were searched to obtain evidence required for the case.
Zuha’s body is currently kept at the mortuary, pending a post-mortem abroad. According to the Police, talks are underway with the relevant authorities to make arrangements for the post-mortem as quickly as possible.
The case is being investigated by the Serious and Organized Crime Department of Maldives Police Service.
