The products made from the Cooperatives, under the Fisheries and Agriculture Ministry’s Fisheries and Agriculture Diversification Program, has earned high acclaim from the Peace Boat.
Many passengers aboard the Peace Boat, now in Male’, had visited the Cooperative stall located near Izzuddin Jetty. Some of the passengers have brought many items from the stall and inquiring on the products available.
It is expected that newly introduced initiatives like cooperatives will increase awareness and create a global advertising platform for the local products.
Initiatives like these, can be run at a low cost and can be extremely effective, as it can be directed towards a large audience. As part of such initiatives, tourists can be briefed on information about Maldives, through something as cost effective as booklets on the country.
Promotion boards, such as MMPRC, can divest their attention to such methods that are tried and tested.
The passengers aboard the Peace Boat had shown lively interest in Male’, engaging in dialogue with locals dressed in traditional attire.
