The Indian Ambassador to the Maldives Rajiv Shahare has departed after completing his tenure as Ambassador.
His tenure lasted for two years and nine months. Shahare departed via Sri Lankan Airlines. His next role is as Ambassador of India to Denmark.
Prior to his departure, Shahare met President Yameen, Foreign Minister Dunya Maumoon and senior delegates of the Government.
In his role as Ambassador of India, Shahare had engineered many projects for the development of Maldives and in improving the bilateral relations between the two nations.
Indian Embassy had carried out many activities to mark the 50 years of diplomatic ties between the two nations. The activities were held over the course of one year.
Shahare had facilitated many opportunities for individuals in the social sphere.
In his speeches, Shahare had many times over highlighted the strong ties between the two nations. He had developed strong ties with local media and facilitated many opportunities for media.
