MMA Governor Dr. Azeema Adam has said that the biggest question she received was on the question of the availability of US dollars and that the best way to increase that is by increasing productivity.
Speaking in the closing ceremony of the Expo Maldives 2015 held in Dharubaaruge, Dr. Azeema said that Maldivian products did not have a market due to the lack of proper quality standards. However, she said that the exhibits at the Expo had proven that to be an incorrect assumption. Dr. Azeema added that the Expo had shown that Maldivian crafters are extremely talented and gifted.
Dr. Azeema noted that the sale of such crafts in the international market was a way of gaining foreign cash. He added that the Kunming Fair was an excellent opportunity for this as well.
Dr. Azeema stated that in order to maximize foreign cash reserves the outflow of the cash has to be minimized. She said if the products to souvenir markets are completely from the Maldives, then the amount of the foreign reserves in the country can be maximized.
