Smoking is forbidden- Sheikh Nasrullah
Abdul Latheef
Sheikh Nasrullah has stated that smoking is forbidden in Islam and such a forbidden act should not be done during Hajj pilgrimage.
Sheikh Nasrullah made this remark speaking at the meeting held with the pilgrims of Sisilfar Hajj and Umrah group at the auditorium of Ameenee building.
The sheikh said that whether one goes to Hajj or not, smoking is a forbidden matter and all should do their best to refrain from it.
He said that those who are permitting to import it do so because of the large number of users and because of the fear of having the same fate as President Mohamed Ameen.
Sheikh Nasrullah said that a forbidden matter will remain a forbidden matter even if the state allows its import and selling regardless of the reason.
Dr. Abdul Majeed Abdul Bari also made a similar remark regarding smoking during his tenure as the Minister of Islamic Affairs. He also has written a work with evidences from Quran and Sunnah regarding the issue.
