Vice Governor of Yunnan Province Liu Huiyan has said that he hoped that the Maldivian office to be established in Kunming, can be opened during the Kunming Expo 2015.
He made the statement speaking in the call to President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Qayyoom, held Monday in the President’s Office.
At the meeting, the Vice expressed his gratitude in reaching a consensus with the Minister of Economic Development in different sectors like education, health, culture and infrastructure which will symbolize mutual cooperation between China and Maldives and serve to further strengthen the Maldivian economy.
President expressed his gratitude in being able to open an Office of Trade and Tourism in Kunming and highlighted that China-Maldives friendship was highly rewarding.
President pointed to the different instances where the Chinese Government has helped Maldives in various ways and appreciated the fact that China was always ready to help. Moreover, the President referred to the historical ties with Yunnan and expressed his hopes to maintain good ties with Yunnan even in this modern era.
