Managing Director of Al Fathuh Umrah and Hajj Group taken into Police custody for fraud

The Managing Director of Al Fathuh Umrah and Hajj Group has been taken into Police custody for fraud.

Mustafa Mohammed of M. Excel, K. Male’ is involved in a case of fraud where he allegedly promised Hajj trips to more than the allowed quota per business by the Islamic Ministry and took their money.

He was taken into custody from his place of residence at about 1800 hours on the 12th of this month.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the organization took money from individuals promising them a Hajj trip, despite being over the quota set by the Islamic Ministry.

Any individuals who have given money to this organization are urged to contact the Economic Crime Department of the Maldives Police .

The Economic Crime Department is investigating the matter further.
