The commencement ceremony of the construction of the China Maldives Friendship Bridge is to be held on the 30th of this month.
It has been confirmed to Miadhu that a high level delegation from China as well as a special representative of the Chinese Government will be taking part in the ceremony.
With the bilateral relations between the two nations at the peak, many have said that the bridge is a representation of the close relations and the priority President Xi Jinping gives to the Maldives.
Some preliminary work of the bridge had already begun.
