Ministry employees will be shifted, not dismissed: Spokesperson
Spokesperson at the President’s Office, Ibrahim Muaz Ali has said that the Finance Ministry employees will not be dismissed, but rather they will be shifted to other agencies in need of employees.

Speaking to Miadhu on the issue of Ministry employees going strike, Muaz said that the Government had always clearly communicated all the decisions undertaken.

“The employees say they do not know what their status is. This is an incorrect assumption. We have clearly communicated the decision and that has not changed. The relevant agencies will implement the decision,” he said.

“We are continuously saying that we will not do anything that will harm any employee. The President had assured that,” he said.

Muaz said that any changes will be made after the audits of the Finance Ministry. He added that the changes have to be made through Civil Service Commission and therefore, might take some time.

Muaz said that the changes to Finance Ministry were carried out following a performance audit, to maximize the performance of the employees. He added that work was being carried out by the Civil Service to make any changes to positions and salaries.
