President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a message of sympathy to the President of Indonesia, His Excellency Joko Widodo, following the ferry accident that occurred in province of Sulawesi.
The President’s message reads as follows:
“I was deeply saddened to hear of the ferry accident off the province of Sulawesi, which caused the loss of innocent lives and injury to many. Whilst the search for survivors continues, we pray that, of those that still remain unaccounted for, more victims can be saved”
“At this time of tragedy, the Government and the people of the Maldives join me in conveying our profound sympathy to Your Excellency, the Government and the people of Indonesia. I wish the recovery efforts every success, and commend the tenacity of the Indonesian people in the face of such tragedy.”
“Please also convey our sincere condolences to the members of the bereaved families.”
