Housing Minister Dr. Mohamed Muiz has said that the former President Mohamed Nasheed’s regime led to the failure of the Maldivian construction industry.
Speaking at a press conference held at the Housing Ministry, Minister Dr. Muiz said that the MDP pushed the industry into a bottomless pit.
He said that the MDP government did not do anything to develop the construction industry whatsoever.
Muiz said that the Nasheed’s regime instead of developing the industry worked to destroy the construction industry.
“It is now in an appalling state. The government since 2008 to 2012 totally disregarded the construction industry. Instead of developing the industry they worked to destroy it,” he said.
He said that the current government’s aim is to uphold and develop the industry to new heights.
