A mobile application, Make My Island, has been launched to address the issues of garbage and other issues.
The application was launched in a ceremony held in Salt Restaurant yesterday afternoon by Deputy Minister at Environment Ministry Abdullah Majeed.
The app, made by UNDP, is currently used in Fonadhu and in four islands linked to that island. The app is now to be used in Hulhumale’ and Vilimale’.
Abdullah Majeed said that the aim of the Government is to use new media to expand the service in all parts of the country.
He appealed to the public to use the application to report such issues. He also noted that it was vital to provide the application all through the country.
