Maldives Correctional Service has said that any letters or documentation that has to be handed over to convicts can be sent only through the service.
A statement released by the Service Friday stated that when lawyers met their clients, they can discuss their cases and sign any documents pertaining to the case. However, if the lawyers have to handover anything to the convicts from their families, then those items have to be processed through the main office of the Service.
The statement said that the Service had granted two hours on every weekday for former President Mohamed Nasheed to consult with his legal team.
