Women of Gaaf Dhaal Thinadhoo has held a walk in the island this evening against gender violence.
The walk organized by “Heylamaa Anhenun” group, was held from 4 pm to 6 pm. Walk organizers reported that the aim of the walk was to raise awareness on gender violence and prevent such actions.
Adults of both genders took part in the walk.
A moment of silence and a dua was observed for Ziyadha Naeem of the island, who is currently in ICU in IGMH, receiving treatment for domestic violence. Many had expressed that justice had to be found for her.
The walk was held on major roads of the island.
