Criminal Court has decreed that former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb and former Managing Director of MMPRC Abdullah Ziyath has to be held in custody until the end of the trial.
The decree was made in the trial held Thursday via teleconference. Ziyath is being charged with misappropriation of funds regarding payments made to the state by Ebony Pvt Ltd. The misappropriated funds amounts to US$ 1 million.
Adeeb is being charged with abuse of authority. Adeeb is to be tried separately, charged with possession of a firearm.
Adeeb has been given one month to appoint a lawyer.
