Economic Ministry has stated that the Ministry will assist any project that benefited the nation.
Economic Ministry stated that the biggest priority of the Ministry was to promote local innovations and will assist any party who requests for such assistance.
The Ministry said that the Ministry does not only provides loans but they also monitor and offer consultation on the projects.
Economic Ministry also said that there were many business opportunities and possible innovations open in the farming sector. The Ministry noted that mushrooms can be grown in the country. Economic Ministry added that the biggest issue in resort supply opportunities was the lack of guaranteed supply.
“Resorts are ready to buy local produce. However, there is no guarantee that they will be given a steady supply. This is the key issue.”
Economic Ministry said that if a proper schedule is implemented then there will be no waste, maximize profits and that there will be increased orders from resorts.
The current market prices for local produce such as cucumber and brinjals are around MVR 40 to MVR 50. They were hovering near the MVR 20 mark previously.
