Dhiraagu has donated a submarine ride to the children of Kudakudhinge Hiya, as school holiday gift.
Dhiraagu said that the school holidays were a time of rest and relaxation for children, usually with their parents.
The children were taken on the trip Thursday morning. Senior officials and employees of Dhiraagu and Kudakudhinge Hiya took part in the trip. Dhiraagu said that the children were enthralled and excited about the sights they saw in the trip.
Dhiraagu has had long standing relations with the Hiya. Dhiraagu has been providing parental control enabled free internet to the Hiya from 2008 onwards. The company also sponsors the salaries of teachers in the Hiya. Additionally, the company had created two computer labs and a library in the Hiya.
Dhiraagu Public Relations Manager Imjad Jaleel said that this year they offered a submarine ride. He said that they hold activities every school holidays for the children in the Hiya. Last year, Dhiraagu took the children to the Magic Circus of Samoa and held magic shows as well.
Protecting and providing assistance to the children was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility. Earlier this year, Dhiraagu has conducted an online child safety program in association with Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC). The company had also created an indoor play area in Autism Association and donated many items required for Care Society. Additionally, the company made a MVR 100,000 donation to Hithadhoo’s Al-Noor Center’s special needs children.
Dhiraagu also conducts an annual Special Sports Festival aimed at special needs children.
