Foreign Ministry has said that the Government of Maldives has decided to assist Alliance led by Saudi Arabia to fight against terrorism and to restore peace in Yemen.
The statement issued by the Ministry said that “Maldives has consistently maintained a policy of supporting international efforts to eliminate the menace of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, and the decision to assist Saudi Arabia stems from that policy.”
The statement noted that the two nations were currently working on the details on how the Maldives could contribute to the Alliance.
The statement also noted that Maldives has always supported peace in the Middle East and would always support the independence and sovereignty of Yemen.
