Addu Meedhoo Member of Parliament Rozaina Adam has said that there were many discrepancies in the funds distributed by the Government for the victims of the Addu floods.
Speaking in MDP Office Monday evening, Rozaina said that in some cases, the home owners who had sustained the biggest damages were given an insignificant amount of money. She noted that there were some cases where home owners who had sustained no damages were given funds.
Rozaina said the discrepancies had occurred due to the lack of proper communication between the Government and the councils of the atolls and islands. She said if the two bodies had coordinated efforts such discrepancies would not have risen.
Rozaina said that she will submit the issue for review to the Parliament.
