Assistant Commissioner of Police Jamsheed has stated that the guerilla liberation struggle carried out by Mohamed Thakurufaanu and his allies was a success only because the act was carried out for the nation, national liberty and selflessness patriotism.
He made the statement in his address given in Utheemu to make the National Day.
Jamsheed said that the liberation was only possible because of the assistance given to them. However, none of those who assisted Mohamed Thakurufaanu and the allies had carried out any act that was motivated by selfish interests.
Jamsheed said that the builders of Kalhu oh’fummi had not asked for any favor. He added that Dhuvaafaru Dhandehelu did not ask for any compensation for his part in the Jihad. He noted that the sail master Maroshi Raaveribe had not asked for any compensation either.
Jamsheed instructed to take heed from such examples and called on to reflect on the commitment given to the cause by the patriots.
