Fisheries Ministry has installed Fish Aggregating Devices (FAD) in outside of Dh. Hulhudheli.
Fisheries Minister Dr. Mohamed Shainee has appealed to the public to use the devices properly and will benefit fishermen. He added that some fishermen deliberately cut the FADs or attach the vessels to the FADs.
Dr. Shainee appealed fishermen not to continue such acts and to properly and sustainably use state assets.
Fisheries Ministry reported that FAD installation takes a long period and costs over MVR 200,000.
