Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed has said that more than MVR 650 million has been spent on Aasnadha unlimited till now.
Vice President Dr. Jameel made this remark speaking to the people of Kolhumadulu Dhiyamigili on August 30.
“I am pleased to announce that the state budget for next year will allocate about MVR 600 million for Aasandha unlimited. In this year till now, about that amount has been spent. More than MVR 650 million has been spent so far,” he said.
“Sometimes a great amount has been spent even for one individual. For instance, there has been spent about 5 lakh or 2 lakh just for one person,” he said.
Dr. Jameel said that a little help was provided by the previous health scheme. He said this was changed with the introduction of Aasandha unlimited.
In addition to this, Dr. Jameel said that the biggest challenge faced by the health sector is the shortage of doctors.
He said that the reason for this and where the doctors are in need should be considered to resolve this issue.
