Minister of Education, Dr. Aishath Shiham has said that the Maldivian students studying in Trivendrum, India will be taught Islam, Dhivehi and Quran.
Dr. Aishath Shiham made this remark speaking at a press conference held at STELCO yesterday. She said that the Ministry of Education is working to arrange this under the guidance of the President’s Office and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs.
Minister Dr. Aishath Shiham said that there are more than 300 Maldivian students studying in India and the Ministry is now trying to arrange teachers.
She said that the Ministry will also arrange Islam, Dhivehi and Qur’an to be taught to Maldivian students in neighbouring Sri Lanka as well within this year.
In addition to this, the Minister said that discussions will be held with all of the principals of schools throughout Maldives.
