The new Ambassador from Saudi Arabia to the Maldives Badr Ali Al- Haikal has visited the Maldives Islamic University.
He was greeted on arrival by Vice Chancellor Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, senior officials of the Ministry, lecturers and employees.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Shaheem briefed Ambassador Badr regarding the ongoing and planned projects for the University and gave a presentation on the areas in which the University needed assistance.
Ambassador Badr assured that he will seek Saudi aid for the projects and assured that the assistance will be expedited. He noted the many initiatives carried out by the University, since its formation a
few months back.
Dr. Shaheem said that this was the first official visit by the Ambassador after presenting his credentials to the President. He noted that the visit was organized on the Ambassador’s request.
The Ambassador and the University exchanged gifts in the ceremony.
