Professor Thariq Ramadan has called to establish independence, the right to speak freely and to establish justice among the public.
He made the appeal speaking in the lecture held in Islamic Center under the banner “The Message”. “The Message” is a series of lectures run by the Islamic Ministry.
In his address Professor Thariq highlighted on key issues facing the Muslim ummah, such as the issue of “qisaas”. He said in the event, if a person was given the death sentence, under “qisaas”, the sentence must not be carried out if there was reasonable doubt. Otherwise, he warned that the consequences of the action will be spread over the years.
Professor Thariq also called on the public to correct their personal moral codes, highlighting the important role educators played in shaping the nation.
He added that at the Judgement Day any worldly titles or positions will not benefit the person as that day God will address every individual by name. He said that day, only those who had carried out good acts in this world.
Professor Thariq said that the Quran has been translated to many languages and appealed to all to learn the Quran to the best of their abilities.
