Majlis passes three Committee Reports by the Public Accounts Committee
At the Sixth Sitting of the Third Session of the People’s Majlis held today, three Committee Reports presented by the Public Accounts Committee were passed by Majlis.

The Committee Report on review of salary and allowance of the Members of the National Integrity Commission, as per Article 18 (a) of the National Integrity Commission Act (Act No. 17/2015), was passed with 50 votes unanimously. There were 15 abstentions.

The Committee Report was presented to the floor by the Chair of the Public Accounts Committee Ahmed Nihan Hussein Manik. Seven Members spoke during time allocated for debate on the Bill.

The Committee Report on the amendment proposed to the Committee Report reviewed as per Article 102 of the Constitution and Section 10 of Article 100 (a) of the Regulation Governing the Proceedings of the People’s Majlis and passed on 25 December 2012 on the reassessment of the salary and allowances of institutions finalized by the People’s Majlis, was passed with 51votes unanimously. There were 15 abstentions.

The Committee Report on the matter was presented to the floor by Deputy Chair of the Public Accounts Committee Ahmed Amir, MP for Kudahuvadhoo.

The third Committee Report from the Public Accounts Committee was the report on the 2016 projected budget of the Auditor General’s Office, which was passed with 46 votes in favor. There were 16 votes against and 2 abstentions.
