At the Sixth Sitting of the Third Session of the People’s Majlis held today, the Bill on Amendment to the Drug Act (Act No. 17/2011) tabled by Saud Hussein, MP for Villingili, was passed with 48 votes in favor as reviewed by the Committee on Economic Affairs. There were 13 abstentions.
At today’s Sitting, the Committee Report was presented to the Majlis floor by Committee Chair Ali Mohamed, MP for Holhudhoo. Eighteen Members spoke during time allocated for debate on the Committee Report.
The First Reading of the Bill was held on 12 October 2015 at the Third Sitting of the Third Session of the Majlis. The Bill was sent for review to Committee at the Fourth Sitting of the Third Session of the Majlis.
