The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, H.E. Ms. Dunya Maumoon has sent a message of condolence to H.E. Mr. Sartaj Aziz, Advisor to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs of Pakistan following the earthquake that struck Pakistan today.
The Minister’s message reads as follows:
“It was with deep shock and sadness that I learnt about the powerful earthquake that struck Pakistan today, causing the loss of many lives and injury to many more.
The Government and the people of the Maldives join me in conveying profound sympathy and stand in solidarity with the Government and people of Pakistan, at this time of national tragedy. Please also convey my sincere condolences to the members of the bereaved families.
I hope and pray that the rescue and recovery operations being carried out in connection with the disaster go well and that the victims and their families are given strength.”
